Chase Frost and Zach Nelson 2025 Ted Reese Memorial Scholarship Winners

The Ted Reese Memorial Scholarship committee is proud to announce two recipients of this year’s scholarship award.  Two candidates will be awarded with a $2000 scholarship.  These graduating Bonny Eagle wrestlers have achieved great success on the mat and in the classroom.  They have persevered through challenges, and we are excited to honor them while continuing the legacy of Coach Reese.

Chase finishes his high school wrestling career with over 100 wins and as a Maine State Runner-up in both the Class A championship and the All-State championship.  During his career he placed in the regional tournament three times and was a two-time state place winner.  Chase demonstrated resilience and sacrifice toward the end of achieving his goals and helping the team to maximize their performance.  His commitment to the team is evident and he plans to come back and help the returning high school wrestlers to achieve their goals next season.  In the classroom, Chase earned a 3.04 grade point average.  We wish him the best at Southern Maine Community College next year.

Zach demonstrated consistency and commitment from the time he started wrestling in second grade through the end of his high school career.  While he didn’t experience immediate success in youth wrestling, he steadily improved and grew to love the sport.  As a senior he enjoyed a great deal of success and ended up placing 3rd in the state championship tournament while achieving 100 varsity wins in his career.  Zach was successful in the classroom and achieved a 3.2 grade point average.  In addition to wrestling, Zach participated in varsity football and spent a good deal of time pursuing his love for racing.  Zach will continue his education at the Nascar Technical Institute this coming year.  He plans to stay involved in wrestling as much as possible and eventually contribute to the sport through coaching.
