Congratulations Ashton Day the 2023 recipient of Ted Reese Memorial Scholarship. Ashton grew up wrestling with the Bonny Eagle youth program before practicing with the Bonny Eagle High School program and competing for Sacopee Valley High School. Ashton is a fierce competitor placing 4th in the Class A Championships at 220 lbs. and qualified for the New England Wrestling Championships. More than Ashton’s wrestling prowess is his commitment to his teammates, his leadership on and off the mat, and his kindness. He was always available to help another wrestler, and made sure everyone had a ride to and from practice no matter how far out of the way it was. Tom Turner, Ashton’s middle school coach, said, “Though Ashton technically wrestles for Sacopee Valley, make no mistake, Ashton bleeds Bonny Eagle green and white.” Ashton heads to Southern Maine Community College in the fall to persue a degree in nursing. We are proud of you Ashton and look forward to hearing all about your future successes.
